AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB NEW YORK DEFEATS THE NEW YORK SHOCKERS 4-1

 

Leo Pinto dished out three assists as the Fighting Tomcats extended their unbeaten streak to four matches

(Albany, New York June 20th, 2026) – American Soccer Club New York defeated the New York Shockers 4-1 on the road Saturday Night at Afirm’s Sports Park. With the victory, the Fighting Tomcats improved to 3-2-3 on the season while also extending their unbeaten streak to four matches.
For American Soccer Club NY, it was three important points in the North Atlantic Conference standings.
“The coaches and I are very pleased with our players’ performance tonight,” said Fighting Tomcats Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “They were focused, determined, and, as always, had a tremendous work rate and attitude.”
American Soccer Club NY opened the scoring in the 24th minute when defender Ezequiel Palomeque headed in a feed from midfielder Leo Pinto who recorded three assists in the match. In the 32nd minute, the Fighting Tomcats made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal from defender Tommy Wagner.
When the second half began, American Soccer Club NY’s offense continued to have success.
The opening goal combination struck again in the 56th minute when Palomeque, once again, headed in a pass from Pinto. In the 65th minute, Pinto notched his third helper of the match when he fed forward Aidan Kolbe to make it 4-0.
“Leo Pinto was exceptional with an outstanding performance,” said Fitzgerald. “To top the conference leaders was a huge accomplishment. With four games unbeaten in a row, we’re now looking to finish the season strong and hopefully qualify for the playoffs.”
The Fighting Tomcats have two more regular season matches, with both taking place on the road.
On Saturday, June 27th, American Soccer Club NY will visit Santa Cruz FC for a 7pm kickoff. And the, on Wednesday July 1st, the Fighting Tomcats will travel to face Osner’s FC in a match that commences at 730pm.
American Soccer Club NY will host the iconic New York Cosmos in the “KICK ALS! Cup”, an exhibition match on Wednesday June 24th at 7pm at Lavalle Stadium on the campus of Stony Brook University.
