AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB-NEW YORK SIGNS FORWARD HARRY COOKE
Queens College star joins the Fighting Tomcats for the 2026 season
Long Island, NY (March 26th, 2026) – American Soccer Club-New York has announced the signing of forward Harry Cooke to a one-year deal for the 2026 National Premier Soccer League season. The native of Market Drayton, England joins the Fighting Tomcats after a stellar career at Queens College.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity,” said Cooke. “It’s a great step for me and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team and continuing to develop my game in a competitive environment. My expectations for the season are to work hard, help the team achieve its goals and be as consistent and impactful as possible both on and off the field.”
This past season for the Knights, Cooke played and started in all sixteen games as a senior recording 20 points on 9 goals (3 game winners) and two assists. He recorded a career best 3 goals and 6 points in a game against Holy Family on September 4th.
Cooke totaled 58 goals and 18 assists during his collegiate career and was a two-time All-American.
“Harry is an exciting and effective forward,” said ASC New York Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time often sneaking in a finish from seemingly nothing. He is fun to watch. He has done well in his college career and is poised to go to the next level. I’m looking forward to the competitive mentality that he brings.”
Cooke went to Shrewsbury School in England and has also played for the Manchester United Academy, Stoke City Academy and Lincoln Memorial University where he started 18 out of 19 games and tallied 16 goals (4 game winners) to go along with 2 assists. At Shrewsbury, he was the captain of the soccer and cricket 1XL teams while earning Sportsman of the Year honors and was an England ISFA representative.
He’s eager to be a part of the American Soccer Club-New York family.
“I’ve been really impressed with the culture around the team, especially managing to watch a couple of games last year,” said Cooke. “There’s a strong sense of professionalism and togetherness and you can tell that everyone is committed to improving and pushing each other. It’s a great environment to be part of and I’m excited to get started.”
American Soccer Club-New York will be making additional announcements in the upcoming weeks including player signings and new partnerships. The Fighting Tomcats will open their 2026 National Premier Soccer League season on May 2nd against the New York Shockers at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, the club’s primary home venue.
