AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB-NEW YORK SIGNS MIDFIELDER ALAN MARTINEZ  

Long Island native joins the Fighting Tomcats for the 2026 season 

Long Island, NY (March 24th, 2026) – American Soccer Club-New York has announced the signing of midfielder Alan Martinez to a one-year deal for the 2026 National Premier Soccer League season. The native of Inwood, New York played for Lawrence High School and went on to play collegiately at Long Island University.

“I’m very excited to sign with ASC New York and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the club,” said Martinez. “It’s a great environment to continue developing and competing at a high level. My expectations for the season are to contribute to the team in any way I can, keep improving every day, and help the group achieve its goals and have a successful season.”

Martinez brings an extensive resume with him to the Fighting Tomcats. He has played for Nona FC and the Long Island Rough Riders of USL 2 as well as New York Braveheart FC in the UPSL Premier Division.

“Alan is a creative and crafty player,” said ASC New York Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “He has a great sense of the game and is dangerous 1v1. He has solid experience, which shows in big moments. He was with us for Open Cup and showed the quality he can bring to the squad. We’re excited to have him for the coming season.”

Martinez played youth soccer for BW Gottschee in Middle Village and went on to a terrific career at Lawrence High School where he was a captain and All-County selection. At Long Island University, Martinez was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team in 2021 and the NEC Spring 2022 Academic Honor Roll. He played 77 games for the Sharks and scored 8 goals to go along with 18 assists.

“I’m really impressed with the culture around the team,” said Martinez. “From what I’ve seen, there’s a strong sense of professionalism, hard work, and unity. Everyone is committed to getting better and pushing each other, which creates a great atmosphere to grow and succeed.”

American Soccer Club-New York will be making additional announcements in the upcoming weeks including player signings and schedule. The 2026 National Premier Soccer League season will begin in May. Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale will be the club’s primary home venue.
