AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB RE-SIGNS CAPTAIN BRIAN SARAMAGO
Long Island native will return for his second season with the Fighting Tomcats
Long Island, NY (December 23rd, 2025) – American Soccer Club-New York has announced the re-signing of Captain Brian Saramago to a one-year contract for the 2026 season. The 27-year-old winger scored the first goal in ASC New York history last year and finished the season finding the back of the net six times in seven matches.
“I’m very excited to be back with ASC-New York and to represent the club once again,” said Saramago. “I look forward to building on last season’s progress and helping the club achieve its goals this upcoming season.”
Saramago, a native of New Hyde Park and a graduate of New Hyde Park High School, played college soccer at Loyola University in Maryland before embarking on a pro career that included stops with New York Red Bulls II, the New York Red Bulls U-23 team, the Long Island Rough Riders, NK Rudar Velenje in Slovenia and B-SAD in Portugal. Internationally, he played for the United States U-19 team in 2016.
He is the first player from the 2025 roster to be re-signed for next season.
“The coaches and I are very happy to have Brian with us again for the upcoming season,” said Fighting Tomcats Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “He is a true pro and brings that experience to the table. As Captain last season, he did an exemplary job in leading by example, while holding himself accountable along the way. He’s a natural in the final third and we’re looking forward to seeing that again in 2026.”
American Soccer Club-New York will be making additional announcements in the upcoming weeks including player signings, home venue and season/group ticket information. The 2026 National Premier Soccer League season will begin in May.
