AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB NY SIGNS MIDFIELDER SEBASTIAN GOICOCHEA

Queens native joins Fighting Tomcats for the 2026 NPSL season

Long Island, NY (January 5th, 2026) – American Soccer Club-New York has announced the signing of 28-year-old central midfielder Sebastian Goicochea to a one-year deal for the 2026 National Premier Soccer League season. The 5’7” 168- pound Queens native has played professionally for Comerciantes Unidos and Piratas FC in Peru. Also starred for Francis Lewis High School and played for youth clubs Atlas FC and Pachuca CF in Mexico.

“I am very pleased to be part of this club and truly excited for the season ahead,” said Goicochea. “I am confident that through our commitment and hard work, we will create many memorable moments for our supporters this year. I believe that every club strives not only to win matches but also to help its players reach their full potential, and that is exactly what this club represents. I am happy to be here and look forward to getting to work with everyone at ASC New York.”

The 5’7” 168-pound Goicochea has played professionally for Comerciantes Unidos and Piratas FC in Peru. Last season, he joined the Fighting Tomcats for U.S. Open Cup play and that led to him becoming a full-time player for ASC New York in 2026.

He is expected to be a force all over the field for ASC New York.

“We immediately knew we wanted him to join us for next season,” said Fighting Tomcats Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “His work-rate in midfield is off the charts. He’s an absolute beast when defending and super technical and smooth in possession. His first look is to play positive (forward), which fits into our style. His attitude is also super positive. He’s my type of player and I’m confident he’s going to be an excellent addition for us.”

Goicochea has also played for New Jersey Alliance FC in the NISA Nation.

American Soccer Club-New York will be making additional announcements in the upcoming weeks including player signings, home venue and season/group ticket information. The 2026 National Premier Soccer League season will begin in May.
